Umrah is more than a pilgrimage; it is a journey of faith, self-reflection, and spiritual awakening. Visiting Makkah and Madinah is a calling that brings the heart closer to Allah. My journey in March 2025 was transformative—an imprint on my soul that prepared me for the most difficult year of my life.
Preparing for the Divine Call
The anticipation began long before I set foot in the Kingdom. From travel documents to learning rituals, every step felt like a blessing. Packing the essentials—Ihram, prayer books, and a heart filled with sincerity—marked the start of this voyage.
Arrival: The First Glimpse of the Kaaba
Stepping into Saudi Arabia brought an indescribable peace. My first sight of Masjid al-Haram was overwhelming. Seeing the Kaaba standing magnificently filled my eyes with tears. This wasn’t just a physical trip; it was a call to my soul.
The Sacred Rituals: Tawaf and Sa’i
With humility, I performed the rituals:
- Tawaf: Circling the Kaaba seven times, feeling the global unity of Islam.
- Sa’i: Walking between Safa and Marwah, reflecting on the resilience of Hajar (AS). Every supplication felt like a cleansing of the past and a renewal of faith.
The Serenity of Madinah
In the city of the Prophet (PBUH), Masjid al-Nabawi offered a tranquility unlike any other. Standing before the Rawdah to send greetings felt like coming home. Madinah is truly a place of peace and love.
Lessons and a Personal Reflection
This journey taught me humility, patience, and gratitude. It renewed my connection with Allah in ways I never imagined. Looking back, I realize this March pilgrimage gave me the spiritual strength to face the loss of my father, who passed away on October 15, 2025.
I dedicate these reflections to his memory. May Allah grant him the highest rank in Jannah.
A Heart That Yearns to Return
Umrah is a journey of a lifetime. It transforms you, cleanses the heart, and brings you closer to the Creator. May we all be granted the opportunity to embark on this blessed pilgrimage. Ameen.
